Dozens of Regional Government Representatives Attending Last Day of GESS Indonesia 2019

The 2019 Global Educational Supplies & Solutions (GESS) is officially closed today (09/20). On the last day of its implementation, the largest education exhibition and conference event in Southeast Asia was enlivened by the presence of nearly 70 representatives of regional heads, including DPD Members, Deputy Governors, Regents, Mayors, and academics from various regions in Indonesia. Dozens of community leaders were present to receive awards at the Regional Government Forum session at the GESS Talk Arena.

Tarsus Indonesia's Managing Director, Tri Turturi said that this was a new achievement at the GESS Indonesia event. "We are very proud to be able to present dozens of local community leaders, especially local government officials in the Regional Government Forum session. We hope that the spirit of change that we bring at GESS Indonesia 2019 can spread throughout various regions through the presence of local community leaders. "

He continued that the focus of GESS Indonesia 2019 was to equip teachers and educational leaders with essential skills and knowledge in the current information age. With the theme "Equality in the Distribution of Education Quality in Indonesia", Prof. Dr. H. Arief Rachman, M.Pd. (Executive Chair of the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Ministry of Education and Culture), said there are 13 key skills that educators need to teach students so that they can continue to follow rapid technological changes.

"First is the foundational skills of literacy and numeracy, digital skills, teamwork, collaboration, communication, creativity research, critical thinking, adaptability, empathy, optimism, learning skills and curiosity," explained Arief Rachman.

In the three days of its implementation, GESS Indonesia 2019 brought in around 80 exhibitors from 15 countries and presented almost 100 speakers who were experts in the field of education, both domestically and internationally.

"Tarsus Indonesia as the organizer of GESS Indonesia 2019 thanked the participation of sponsors, exhibitors, speakers and all parties involved in this event. Hopefully this good cooperation will be re-established at the GESS Indonesia event next year. "Of course, we will prepare a larger series of events to meet all the needs of educators and schools for the advancement of education in Indonesia," concluded Tarsus Indonesia's Managing Director, Tri Turturi.
