JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Indonesia placed the top destination in Southeast Asia, with the largest number of international schools and the 10th global position. This makes Indonesia now the main destination of premium international schools in Southeast Asia, leading in the region with the number reached 192 schools.

The data was released by ISC Research, a leading supplier of data and information in the K-12 international school market, ahead of the GESS Indonesia exhibition and conference. The conference is the region's biggest education show, to be hosted at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on 27-29 September 2017.

"This country is a major market for international school operators as well as education suppliers due to the growing education sector. It is an emergence of a new education center, with both the number of local and international schools expected to increase dramatically due to the growing population of students," Matt Thompson, Project Director, F&E Education, organisers of GESS Indonesia said Wednesday (9/6/2017) in a press release.

Thompson said GESS Indonesia is in good positiond to support this growth, by gathering internationally recognized experts to share insights on the opportunities and challenges facing the education sector in Indonesia.

"Equally important, education sector decision makers in Indonesia will have an opportunity to meet local and global suppliers of special sector products and solutions that will help enhance teachers effectiveness and student performance," Thompson added.

Following Indonesia, the countries in Southeast Asia with the most number of international schools include Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos and Brunei.
